Comment by Kimura Kanetsugu: This is one of the biggest swords that I have ever made and used the materials for 6 swords katana. The most troublesome phenomenon is oxidized coating caused on the surface in heating the materials and losing the total weight. The bigger sword loses its weight quicker than it was very difficult for me to finish the sword with purposed weight. In quenching the sword with the weight three times more than normal katana and the length of 130 cm, it was physically very hard work as well as mentally. I almost ran out my spirit and power when I came to quench it. I remember that I was so happy and satisfied with the result when did rough polish on it and recognized gorgeous hamon. Then I felt that all my effort was rewarded. I confirmed that the sword had no flaw and the hamon of choji was perfectly tempered. In addition, the powerful horimono of dragon should increase the beauty of the sword which is to be one of the best works in my life further.
